Rory Smith is the sailor without a ship. He lives in Brighton with his partner and spends his free time making
music and tasting whisky. Rory has performed as a solo musician and more recently as a drag king. Growing up in
a tatty seaside town in Devon until he was 18, moving to Brighton has opened his eyes to a plethora of queer expressions.
Rory organizes events with the Brighton Wotever Crew, which puts on queer parties at the cutest village hall to be
found in the city. He also founded a local drag king troupe called Kingdom Come which has performed regularly in Brighton
over the past year. He works for a national UK charity, The Gender Trust, which supports transgender and transsexual
people.
"At Europride, this year in Stockholm, I want to meet a wider catch of queers (other than the familiar faces
of Brighton and London). I hope to exchange ideas and experiences and generally have a queer positive time. Also,
I want to practice my Swedish on any willing volunteers".
